This page covers hotels on M11 motorway in England (London – Stansted Airport – Cambridge). First I list hotels directly at motorway services and then other hotels with good access to the M11, ordered from south (London) to north (Cambridge). All hotels are accessible from both directions (northbound and southbound), unless stated otherwise.

Hotels at M11 Services
M11 is relatively short and there is only one service station. It is located approximately halfway between London and Cambridge at junction 8, which is the junction for Stansted Airport.
Birchanger Green Services
Mile 29 / km 47, near Stansted Airport
There are two hotels directly at the service station (accessible from both directions):
Days Inn London Stansted Airport – Free WiFi, free parking, pets not allowed
Ramada London Stansted Airport – Free WiFi, parking charges may be applicable, pets allowed on request
More accommodation options are available within 1-2 miles from junction 8 and near Stansted Airport. For more details jump to hotels near junction 8.
Hotels on M11 near London (Within M25)
Junction 4 (North Circular)
The M11 motorway starts in South Woodford in northeast London, at the junction with North Circular Road. This junction is marked as junction 4 on the M11. There are no hotels really close to J4, as it is a very big and busy junction. The most conveniently located ones are the following:
If you are coming from, or heading to, the south on the Circular Road (from Blackwall Tunnel, London City Airport, Barking), there is a Premier Inn next to the junction of North Circular with A12 – the last junction before the start of M11, 1.5 miles away.
If you are coming from, or heading to, the north/west on the North Circular, the nearest hotel just off the North Circular is Holiday Inn Express London Chingford at Crooked Billet roundabout, 2 junctions and 3.5 miles from the start of M11.
Junction 5 (Debden, Loughton)
Junction 5 is not a good one for a break, as it has no southbound exit and no northbound entry, and the drive to nearest places where you can access the M11 is rather long.

Junction 6 (M11/M25)
The M11/M25 interchange is marked junction 6 on the M11 and junction 27 on the M25. It is a typical motorway crossing with no access from smaller roads, which also means no accessible hotels directly at this junction.
If you are coming from, or heading to, the M25 in the north-west (towards M1), there is a hotel just of M25 junction 26 (Waltham Abbey), about 3.5 miles from the M11/M25 junction – Waltham Abbey Marriott Hotel.
On the other side on the M25 there are numerous hotels near junction 28 in Brentwood. The ones closest to the motorway (within half a mile from J28) are Holiday Inn Brentwood and Marygreen Manor.
Hotels on M11 near Harlow
Junction 7 (Harlow, Chelmsford)
J7 is really the first standard junction on the M11, with both northbound and southbound access to local roads and a few hotels nearby.
Park Inn by Radisson Harlow – Located a mile from J7 at the edge of Harlow. Offers free parking, free WiFi and a wide range of services, including extensive fitness and business facilities. Pets are not allowed.
Elmcroft Guest House – One of the nicer places to stay on the entire M11, priced slightly higher than the hotel above, but still quite affordable. Free parking, free WiFi. Allows pets, but let them know in advance.

Birchanger Green Services
The service station is accessible directly from the J8 roundabout, both northbound and southbound. It is operated by Welcome Break. Facilities include a Shell petrol station (there is also an Esso on the other side of the roundabout), Burger King, Starbucks, Subway, KFC, Papa John’s Pizza, Waitrose, WHSmith and a few others.
There are two hotels directly at the service station – a Days Inn and a Ramada. Both are priced approximately at the same level and offer similar standard. Both offer free Wifi and have 24/7 front desk. Differences are highlighted below:
Days Inn London Stansted Airport – Has free parking, pets not allowed.
Ramada London Stansted Airport – Parking charges may be applicable, pets allowed on request.
Junction 8 (Stansted Airport, Bishop’s Stortford)
Besides Birchanger Green Services, junction 8 is also the junction leading to Stansted Airport. Therefore the selection of accommodation options is the widest on the entire M11. Hotels with most convenient access to the motorway include the following:
Hilton London Stansted Airport – Situated between the motorway and the airport, half a mile from junction 8. One of the higher end hotels in the area, with extensive business and fitness facilities and an indoor pool.
Great Hallingbury Manor – One of the cheapest options but offering good standard. Less than half a mile from junction 8, but away from the rush and noise, with trees and a small lake – it has a countryside feel, definitely not a typical motorway or airport hotel. Free WiFi, free parking.
More accommodation options are available in the small village of Takeley, 2-4 miles from J8 (depending on the particular hotel’s location), or directly next to Stansted Airport terminal.
Junction 9 (M11/A11)
Junction 9 is again not a good one for accommodation, as it is just where the A11 splits from the M11, with no access to local roads, except via A11, which has no northbound access to M11 itself. There are numerous accommodation options near the next junction, J10, which is accessible from both directions and quite close to J9.
Hotels on M11 near Cambridge
Junction 10 (Imperial War Museum, A505)
There are three hotels close to junction 10:
Holiday Inn Express Cambridge Duxford M11 Jct 10 – Usually the cheapest of the three. Free parking, free WiFi, 24h front desk. Non-smoking throughout. Pets not allowed.
Duxford Lodge Hotel – A nice mid-range hotel surrounded by nice landscaped gardens. Free WiFi, free parking, pets allowed and free. Business and conference facilities and two restaurants.
Whittlesford Bed and Breakfast – High standard, highest rated of the three (currently 9.4/10). Free WiFi, free parking, non-smoking, no pets.
Junction 11 (Cambridge South, A10)
There are several hotels within a mile from J11 in Trumpington, which is really a southwestern end of Cambridge. This is probably the best location logistically if you are coming to Cambridge from the M11 and want to stay as close to the city as possible, but not quite in the city – particularly the first two hotels listed below, which are situated just off the main street.
Anstey Hall – A grade 1 listed mansion with its own park and stylish rooms with antique furnishings, but all the modern facilities too. Free parking, free WiFi, 10 minutes’ drive to Cambridge city centre.
The Lord Byron Inn – Another historical place to stay – this one is a 17th century traditional pub. Free parking, free WiFi.
Ayah Villa Guest House – This one if probably the cheapest option near junction 11. It is not directly on the main street from M11 to the city centre, but less than half a mile off. Free parking, free WiFi and quite high guest review ratings (8-ish) for the price.
Junction 12 (Cambridge, Barton)
There are not that many options near this junction, just one hotel in Barton, less than a mile from M11 to the west:
White Horse Inn – Free WiFi, free parking, pets at no extra charges. Restaurant with kid meals.
Junction 13 (Cambridge, A1303)
Junction 13, located west of Cambridge, has southbound M11 access only. There is one hotel just off the junction:
Rectory Farm – Free WiFi, extensive sport and fitness facilities, including an outdoor swimming pool and tennis court.
Junction 14 (Cambridge Northwest, A14, End of M11)
The M11 motorway ends at junction 14 northwest of Cambridge, where it crosses the A14.
Here you can search all hotels in Cambridge.
