Kačerov is a busy metro station in the southern part of line C (the red line). It is located between Krč and Michle districts, between Budějovická and Michelská streets, close to highways D1 and Jižní Spojka (South Link). The station is an important local bus hub, providing access to metro for buses from many places in the southern part of Prague.
Neighbouring stations are Budějovická (to centre) and Roztyly (to Háje). Travel time from Prague city centre is 12-15 minutes (it is 6 stops from Muzeum and 8 stops from Florenc).
Terminus of the Oldest Metro Line in Prague
Kačerov was the old terminus of metro line C before the metro was extended to Háje. In fact, the section of line C between Kačerov and Florenc (named Sokolovská at that time) was the first metro section opened in Prague (in 1974). The train depot for line C is situated at Kačerov – this is also why sometimes trains terminate here, especially around the end of morning and afternoon peak.
